📍 Who's Behind the Dallas Disability Job Fair
The expo is run by EmployAbility, the program of the Dallas Mayor's Committee for the Employment of People with Disabilities, and it is listed on the Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas event calendar. That pairing matters: the employers and volunteers in the room are there specifically to hire and coach candidates with disabilities.
Organizers expect more than 500 job seekers. No employer roster has been published, so there is no way to know ahead of time which companies will have tables or which roles they will bring. Organizers describe the openings only as spanning multiple industries. Plan to work the whole floor.
✅ What You Get Besides Employer Tables
Much of the value happens between recruiter conversations. According to the organizers, the expo includes:
- Resume reviews from volunteer HR professionals and hiring managers
- Mock interviews and interview coaching
- Information on workplace accommodations and how to approach disclosure
- Sign language interpreters and event ambassadors for attendees with hearing, vision and other disabilities
- A sensory support booth and a quieter section for neurodiverse job seekers
- Free parking at the venue
Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas notes that auxiliary aids and services are available on request through Relay Texas at 711. If you need a specific accommodation, ask ahead rather than at the door. Questions about the expo itself go to EmployAbility at [email protected].
📋 How to Show Up Ready on Tuesday
- Register first. Admission is free, but organizers ask attendees to sign up through the official registration page.
- Bring printed resumes. Ten copies is a safe number with 50-plus employers expected.
- Know your ask. Decide in advance whether you want full-time, part-time or temporary work, and what schedule or commute you can handle.
Next Day, Different Event: City of Dallas Code Compliance Hiring
If city work interests you, Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas lists a City of Dallas Code Compliance Services hiring event on Wednesday, Oct. 21, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Redbird Workforce Center in southwest Dallas. Listed roles include code enforcement officer, equipment operator, neighborhood code representative and sanitarian positions. The listing does not spell out qualifications or whether registration is needed. Confirm the details through the Workforce Solutions contact page or the city's Code Compliance careers page before you make the drive.
