DALLAS, TX — The stretch between Labor Day and the end of September is the busiest recruiting window Dallas County gets all year, and this one is no exception. Between now and September 30, six in-person hiring events are on the calendar — from a staffing-agency morning at the Garland Workforce Center to a four-hour job fest at Gilley's with the Dallas County Judge's name on it.

Six hiring events, Thursday, September 10 through Wednesday, September 30, spread from Garland to Pleasant Grove to the Cedars. All of them are in person. All of them are free for job seekers.

Randstad Hiring Event — Thursday, September 10

Randstad is one of the largest staffing firms operating in North Texas, and it runs these workforce-center mornings when it has seats to fill fast. The Garland center sits just off Clara Barton, a short hop from I-30 and the President George Bush Turnpike, which makes it an easy stop for anyone in Garland, Rowlett, Mesquite or Sunnyvale. Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas lists the date, time and location, but has not published the specific roles or pay for this session — so treat it as an open door rather than a posted job. Simos Hiring Event — Tuesday, September 15

10:00 AM – 1:00 PM | Pleasant Grove Workforce Center, 1125 South Buckner Boulevard, Dallas, TX 75217

SIMOS is a warehouse and logistics staffing operation, and southeast Dallas is the right place for it. Buckner Boulevard runs straight into the distribution corridor that has been swallowing land along I-20 and I-45 for a decade, and the Pleasant Grove center is the closest public workforce office to most of it. If your experience is picking, packing, loading, forklift or general warehouse work, this is the one on the list built for you. As with the Randstad sessions, the specific openings for this date were not posted in advance; go in ready to talk about shifts, certifications and how far you are willing to drive. American GI Forum Job Fair — Tuesday, September 15

11:00 AM – 2:00 PM | American GI Forum, 4535 Half Crown Drive, Dallas, TX 75237

Hosted by the American GI Forum National Veteran Outreach Program in southwest Dallas, off the Loop 12 and I-20 side of town. It is organized by a veteran outreach group, but the listing does not restrict attendance to veterans — the pitch is meeting local employers and exploring openings, and the guidance is to bring several copies of your resume, valid ID and to dress for the job you want. This one is on the workforce board's calendar under a recurring listing, so call (214) 379-7377 to confirm the date and time before you make the drive. It is the only event on this list we would tell you to phone ahead about.

Randstad Hiring Event — Wednesday, September 16

10:00 AM – 1:00 PM | International District Workforce Center, 5757 Alpha Road, Suite 800, Dallas, TX 75240

Same recruiter, different side of the county. The Alpha Road center sits just north of LBJ near the Galleria, which puts it in reach of Far North Dallas, Addison, Richardson and Carrollton without anybody having to cross downtown at rush hour. If you missed the Garland session on the 10th, this is the makeup date — and if you went to Garland and it did not click, there is no rule against trying the second one. Recruiters staffing these events often carry different requisitions depending on which clients are hiring that week.

Dallas Job Fair — Thursday, September 24

11:00 AM – 2:00 PM | DoubleTree by Hilton Dallas Market Center, 2015 Market Center Boulevard, Dallas, TX 75207

A traditional ballroom career fair in the Design District, right off Stemmons where I-35E splits the Market Center. Best Hire Career Fairs runs it, admission is free for job seekers, and it is in person only — no virtual component. Advance registration is strongly recommended, and it costs nothing, so do it. The organizer's site shows recruiters from a mix of sectors: home services, clinical research, transportation and retail fuel, auto dealerships, staffing and the U.S. Army. The employer roster is not locked until closer to the date, so check the event page the week of. If the 24th does not work, the same organizer returns to the same ballroom on Thursday, November 12.

You're Hired Job Fest — Wednesday, September 30

9:00 AM – 1:00 PM | Gilley's Dallas, 1135 Botham Jean Blvd, Dallas, TX 75215

This is the big one, and it is worth planning your month around. Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas runs the Job Fest alongside Dallas County Judge Clay Lewis Jenkins, and it has become the county's signature hiring event — past editions have drawn dozens of employers and thousands of open positions into one room. Admission is free, parking is free, and there are career seminars running alongside the recruiting floor that you select when you register. Gilley's sits in the Cedars just south of downtown, a few blocks off I-30 near the convention center, so it is reachable from every direction. The 2026 employer count and job count had not been published as of this writing; earlier years' numbers are earlier years' numbers, and we are not going to quote them at you as though they are promises. Register free here, and get there early — the line at the door before 9:00 AM is a Dallas tradition at this point.

🔎 How to Pick the Right Ones

Warehouse, forklift and logistics: Simos on the 15th at Pleasant Grove. It is the most targeted event on the list.
You want the widest possible net: the You're Hired Job Fest on the 30th. Most employers in one room, four hours, free parking.
You are north of LBJ: Randstad on the 16th at Alpha Road, then the DoubleTree fair on the 24th. Neither requires crossing the county.
Veterans and military families: the GI Forum fair on the 15th, and the U.S. Army recruits at the DoubleTree event on the 24th.
You need something this week: Randstad at Garland on the 10th is the only event before the 15th. Staffing agencies place people fastest.
You want a real interview, not a handshake: the two Randstad sessions and the Simos session are small and agency-run, which usually means longer conversations than a ballroom fair allows.

📋 What to Bring to Any of Them

Ten printed resumes. More than you think you need, always.
Valid photo ID. Several of these will ask for it at the table.
A phone with your work history, dates and references already typed into a note, so you can fill out an on-site application without guessing.
Interview clothes, even for the workforce-center sessions. Agencies place people who look placeable.
A short answer to "what are you looking for." Thirty seconds. Practice it in the car.

Only two ask for it. The You're Hired Job Fest at Gilley's takes free registration through Eventbrite, and the DoubleTree fair on the 24th strongly recommends registering ahead. The workforce center sessions are walk-in.
