You're Hired Job Fest Sept. 30: Free Dallas County Job Fair at Gilley's

DALLAS, TX — Dallas County's own free job fair is back, and it's this Wednesday. The You're Hired Job Fest, hosted by Dallas County Judge Clay Lewis Jenkins with Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas, fills Gilley's Dallas in the Cedars on September 30 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. It's free, parking is free, and it's open to anyone looking for work, from a first job to a full career change.

One morning, one room, employers from across the region. If you've been sending applications into silence, this is the week to shake a recruiter's hand instead.

What the You're Hired Job Fest Is

This is the county's own job fair, not a traveling hotel-ballroom event. Judge Jenkins has hosted it for years, and Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas, the region's public workforce board, runs it with him. Recruiters talk qualifications and hiring steps face to face, and the registration form lets you pick career seminars to sit in on during the morning.

Last year's edition, held October 2, 2025, was reported by local radio at about 3,500 open positions, with Dallas Love Field, the City of Dallas, Dallas County, DART, Coca-Cola and the Omni among the employers. That was 2025. No employer list or job count has been published for this year's fair, so treat last year as a sense of the mix, not a promise of who will be at a table on Wednesday.

One day earlier, on Tuesday, September 29, Randstad holds a hiring event at the Redbird Workforce Center, 3560 W. Camp Wisdom Road, Suite 110, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This one is narrow: the event listing names cherry picker operators and reach truck operators. First shift runs 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at $18.50 an hour, and second shift runs 2:30 to 11:00 p.m. at $19.50. Bring resumes, come ready to interview, and make sure your Work In Texas account is active and current. If you run a reach truck, go Tuesday. If you don't, save your energy for Gilley's.

Is the Randstad event part of the Job Fest?

No. It's a separate Randstad hiring event on Tuesday, September 29, at the Redbird Workforce Center, for cherry picker and reach truck operators only.
